United Records was a record company and label founded in Chicago by Leonard Allen and Lew Simpkins in 1951. United Records was purchased by Sony Music Entertainment in August 2020.

United Records was purchased by Sony Music Entertainment in August 2020 when a deal was struck between the majority shareholders of United Records and Sony Music Entertainment. Upon purchasing the brand, Sony Music Entertainment changed the name from United Records to United Music Group due to the slight change industry.

In 2021, United Records renamed and became United Music Group. It also launched its commercial modelling division which now stands to be one of the most prominent modelling agencies in Europe with a total of £38.5M transacted and clients such as Gymshark, Urban Outfitters, Sephora and L'Oréal.
